Comprehensive summary of solid oxide fuel cell control: a state-of-the-art review

Abstract Hydrogen energy is a promising renewable resource for the sustainable development of society. As key member fuel cell (FC) family, solid oxide (SOFC) has attracted lot attention because characteristics such as having various sources and high conversion efficiency, being pollution-free. SOFC highly coupled, nonlinear, multivariable complex system, thus it very important to design an appropriate control strategy system ensure its safe, reliable, efficient operation. This paper undertakes comprehensive review detailed summary state-of-the-art approaches SOFC. These are divided into eight categories control: proportional integral differential (PID), adaptive (APC), robust, model predictive (MPC), fuzzy logic (FLC), fault-tolerant (FTC), intelligent observer-based. The carefully evaluated in terms objective, design, application/scenario, robustness, complexity, accuracy. Finally, five perspectives proposed future research directions.
